Value of Visualization
No matter what you want to achieve, the first step to making it a reality is to create a mental image of your goal—to visualize it! Many successful entrepreneurs and athletes have used this technique, and so can you.
What Matters Most
Living a life of success AND significance challenges us to give the best that is in us every moment of every day. It is a constant and worthwhile challenge. And good role models make it easier.
You Can Achieve Success AND Significance
This is the first of a three-part series by executive coach and consultant Joan Wright that will help you achieve more success and significance in your life.
Conquering the Pit
Ever have a feeling in the pit of your stomach that something is not right? That's a warning sign—a red flag that you can use to your advantage if you know how to act rather than react.
Connect With Your Goals
Do questions like “What do you want from life?” and “Where do you see yourself in ten years?” leave you speechless and feeling overwhelmed? Here are some tips that can help.
Motivating Yourself to Kick a Habit
You don’t have to feel motivated all of the time to make healthy choices. Here are some things you can do to prepare yourself for the days when motivation is non-existent.
Realistic Resolutions
It’s that time of year again, when we feel compelled to take stock of our lives and make a change for the better. Do you find that you are making the same resolutions year after year? Well, this is the year to break that cycle.
New Year's Resolutions: Before You Begin
One of the first things we associate with New Year’s is a clean slate, or starting over. We try to forget all our unsuccessful attempts at meeting the goals we set last year. This year, instead of ignoring our past failures, perhaps we could learn from them. Instead of inventing a new you, think about making small upgrades.
To Be or Not to Be
I have often pondered this question with colleagues, friends, family and myself. Do people really change, or is it that people remember who they once were and realize who they are supposed to be?
Conquering the Pit
Have you ever had a feeling in the pit of your stomach that something is not right? How about a nagging feeling of discontentment? Do these feelings cause you to experience a lack of sleep, loose your temper easily, always seem on edge, unable to clear your thoughts? Maybe you attribute the root cause of these feelings to a poor relationship, lack of finances, lack of good health, or overall confusion about life and your journey. In an effort to deal with these negative feelings, do you find ways to self medicate such as: under or overeat, shop, have a glass of wine or a beer, become non-social and disconnected, or even more serious use some type of drug? I could go on and on with a list of less than positive ''medications'' that we prescribe to treat that ''pit in your stomach'' feeling. Let’s ask ourselves do these really work, or is there another wonder drug that will cure us?
